Critic's Analysis

The Amazon Kindle e-reader is a small hand held device capable of holding approximately 1500 e-books, or a variety of e-books, audiobooks or mp3’s. It is just larger than most paperback books, weighing in much less, and is as thin as a pencil. I have owned both the Kindle 1 and the Kindle 2 and would recommend either model. The model I am reviewing is the Kindle 2. I have used this model every single day since I bought it, it has traveled long and short trips, and goes with me daily in my purse. I love the ability to be able to purchase and read whatever I want, pretty much wherever I want because of the whispersync technology. I can finish a book on the fly, and have another one ready at my fingertips. I can read bestsellers, classics, and indie authors with one click. I would not trade my kindle, it is far and away the best e-reader on the market, it is not the only e-reader, but it is the best, in my opinion. Amazon.com has a 30 day money back guarantee on the Kindle, so if you decide that e-reading is not for you, you can return it no questions asked. The Kindle is now available at Target Stores across the U.S., so you also have the option of actually seeing it before buying it. The store “dummy” model, does not really do it justice though. There are also Kindle reading apps for most phone platforms and the kindle will sync between the phone app and the kindle itself to keep you reading where you left off with either device.

I would highly recommend the Kindle for it’s one click whispersync techonology, the lightness and slimness of design and the e-ink technology instead of backlighting. The point is to read a book, not do ten million other things, and the Kindle does just that.
